Report on “Nari Shakti Vandan” CampaignMajor Dhyan Chand Sports University, Meerut(16–18 April 2026)
Under the vision of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the inspiration of the Hon’ble Chancellor and Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Major Dhyan Chand Sports University successfully organized a series of academic, creative, and awareness-based activities from April 16 to April 18, 2026, under the “Nari Shakti Vandan” campaign. The program was conducted under the able leadership of Vice-Chancellor Major General Deep Ahlawat (Retd.).
The primary objective of this campaign was to promote women empowerment, gender equality, and awareness among students. All activities were conducted systematically as per the schedule, with enthusiastic and active participation from students.
Day 1: April 16, 2026
A story writing competition on the theme “Women in a Changing India” was organized under the supervision of Ms. Shrija Singh. The competition provided students with an opportunity to express their perspectives on the evolving role of women in modern India. Participants presented creative and thought-provoking stories highlighting social change, women empowerment, and related challenges.
Day 2: April 17, 2026
Two major activities were conducted:
1. Speech Competition
A speech competition on the theme “Women in Sports: Breaking Stereotypes” was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sonia Rana. Students shared impactful views on the role and achievements of women in sports and emphasized the need to challenge societal stereotypes. After careful evaluation, the winners were announced as follows:
- First Prize: Vanshika Singh
- Second Prize: Pradeep Kumar Gurjar
- Third Prize: Aman Kumar
2. Library Visit Initiative
Under the initiative “Padhe Vishwavidyalaya, Badhe Vishwavidyalaya”, an academic visit to the Central Library was organized under the supervision of Mr. Shivansh Pal. The objective was to familiarize students with academic resources and highlight the importance of self-study.
Day 3: April 18, 2026
Two significant events were organized:
1. Painting Competition
A painting competition was conducted under the direction of Prof. Satyant Kumar and Ms. Shrija Singh. Students creatively depicted themes of women empowerment and equality through their artwork. The Registrar, Mr. Sunil Kumar Jha, was present on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the participants.
2. Awareness Rally (Valedictory Event)
As the concluding event, an awareness rally was organized in collaboration with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology. The rally was flagged off by the Vice-Chancellors, Prof. (Dr.) Triveni Dutt and Major General Deep Ahlawat.
Students participated in a march, raising slogans related to women empowerment and displaying awareness posters. The rally played a significant role in spreading a positive social message.
Conclusion
The participation of students in all activities was highly enthusiastic and commendable. The campaign strengthened social responsibility, creativity, and awareness among students. The guidance and support of faculty members played a crucial role in the success of the events.
Highlighting the importance of women empowerment, Vice-Chancellor Major General Deep Ahlawat (Retd.) stated that although women constitute nearly 50% of society, their representation in leadership positions is still not equal. Ensuring equal participation and respect for women is not only a social necessity but also the foundation of a strong and developed nation.
In this context, the “Nari Shakti Vandan” campaign at Major Dhyan Chand Sports University was successfully conducted in an organized manner. This initiative will serve as an important step toward empowering women and inspiring the youth for social change. The university remains committed to organizing such meaningful and awareness-driven programs in the future.
