From Classroom to Production Floor: BPES Students Experience Global Sports Manufacturing at Nelco India.

Established in 1950, Nelco India manufactures World Athletics and IWF-certified equipment used in major international events, including the Olympic and Asian Games, and exports to over 75 countries. During the visit, students observed large-scale production processes such as vulcanised rubber manufacturing, CNC machining, hydraulic moulding, welding, and advanced finishing systems. Officials explained global quality standards, precision engineering techniques, and export compliance practices.
A key highlight was an interactive virtual session with the company’s owner, where students discussed industry trends, innovation, and global markets. Technical staff also demonstrated real-time operational workflows.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of university faculty members and forms part of the institution’s broader vision to integrate academic learning with practical industry exposure. The initiative enhanced students’ understanding of international standards, manufacturing excellence, and India’s growing sports production ecosystem.
