Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, visited MDSU Campus

On 25 April 2026, the Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, visited the under-construction campus of Major Dhyan Chand Sports University. The purpose of the visit was to review the progress of the construction work and to assess the development of academic and sports infrastructure at the university.

Upon arrival, the Hon’ble Minister was warmly welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Major General Deep Ahlawat, VSM (Retd.). At the beginning of the program, the Vice-Chancellor delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the academic programs in physical education and sports, the facilities being developed for sports training, and the overall progress, quality, and achievements of the ongoing construction work at the university.

The visit was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Raj Kumar Sangwan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Baghpat; Manisha Ahlawat, Member of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission; and Laxmi Mishra, Finance Officer of the university. Senior officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), along with university officers, staff members, and other concerned authorities, were also present on the occasion.

Following the presentation, the Hon’ble Minister provided valuable suggestions for the comprehensive development of the university. He emphasized the need for additional land to facilitate the development of a golf course, adventure activities, and skill development-related infrastructure. He also directed the concerned administrative authorities, particularly at the Tehsil and SDM levels, to ensure the availability of land required for these developments.

In his address, the Hon’ble Minister stated that the university would play a significant role in nurturing sports talent in Uttar Pradesh and would help establish the state’s identity in the field of sports. He further informed that his ministry would enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the university to actively support skill development courses and related initiatives.

After the formal session, the Hon’ble Minister conducted a detailed inspection of the campus, where he reviewed the ongoing construction works and provided necessary directions to ensure quality standards and timely completion of the project. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Finance Officer Mrs. Laxmi Mishra, who expressed her gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister and all dignitaries for their presence and valuable guidance.
