Grand Conclusion of Week-long Celebrations on the Occasion of Gujarat State Foundation Day at Major Dhyan Chand Sports University, Meerut

Under the esteemed guidance of the Hon’ble Governor and the able supervision of Vice Chancellor Major General Deep Ahlawat VSM (Retd.), Major Dhyan Chand Sports University, Meerut successfully organized a series of special programs to mark the occasion of Gujarat State Foundation Day. These events aimed to engage students in social service, health awareness, and cultural appreciation.

Key Highlights of the Program:

1. Visit to Historical Heritage Site (April 25, 2026):
Under the leadership of Prof. Satyant Kumar, Dr. Poonam Bhandari, and Mr. Siddharth Sagare, students visited the renowned Augharnath Temple in Meerut. The visit helped them understand the historical significance of the temple in India’s freedom struggle along with its spiritual importance.

2. Technical and Dairy Visit (April 27, 2026):
Guided by Mr. Shivansh Pal and Mr. Aasim, students visited the dairy unit at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology. They gained insights into modern dairy processing techniques and explored career opportunities in dairy technology.

3. Tuberculosis Awareness and Nutrition Drive (April 28, 2026):
As part of social responsibility, ‘TB Nutrition Kits’ were distributed to tuberculosis patients at CHC Sardhana. The university emphasized the importance of proper nutrition for faster recovery.

4. Sports and Mental Health Initiative (April 29, 2026):
A volleyball match was organized on campus under the guidance of Dr. Sonia Rana to promote physical fitness and mental well-being among students through sports.

5. Plogging and Anti-Plastic Campaign (April 30, 2026):
Under the supervision of Mr. Siddharth Sagare, a cleanliness drive was conducted in Kaili village. Students participated in plogging (jogging while picking up litter) and raised awareness about the harmful effects of single-use plastic, encouraging sustainable alternatives.

6. Walkathon and Fitness Awareness (May 1, 2026):
A grand walkathon was organized within the university campus under the supervision of Ms. Shrija Singh. The initiative aimed to revive the culture of walking and promote fitness awareness. Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Major General Deep Ahlawat (Retd.) highlighted that walking is beneficial not only for physical health but also contributes to environmental conservation by reducing fuel consumption.

Village Development Initiative (Adopted Village Scheme):

The university has adopted Kaili village, located near its Salawa campus, under its village development initiative. The institution is committed to transforming the village into a model village through continuous social outreach, advanced agricultural training, and literacy programs.

In his concluding remarks, Vice Chancellor Major General Deep Ahlawat, VSM(Retd.) expressed satisfaction over the successful execution of all events. He emphasized that awareness towards social service and health, along with academic excellence, defines an ideal student. He also congratulated the entire team for their dedication and efforts.
